Description

A proposal to support the development of a computational savvy community of researchers and postgraduate students not only in South Africa, but also in other African countries. The proposal has four stages:

  • Software & Data Carpentry Instructor Training
  • Supporting new instructors to run their own workshop at their home institution
  • Supporting workshop participants and new instructors to establish communities of practice to sustain post-workshop learning and skill sharing
  • A follow-up event to bring all new instructors back together again to learn about their challenges, successes, and experiences for development of a longer term proposal
